Job Summary

Tacit Growth Strategies, LLC, also known as “TGS” and “Tacit”, is seeking a part-time Grant Accounting Associate to support the administration and management of publicly and privately funded projects and programs for the company. The Grant Accounting Associate will work regularly with the company’s Research Associate to help in organizing and sharing data and information relating to funding availability; notices of funding availability or opportunity and related regulations, statutes, ordinances; fund diversification trends; and community-based collaborative asset building best practices from a variety of sources. Under general supervision, the Grant Accounting Associate will regularly conduct research, create and update process flows and flow charts for internal controls relating to the administration, governance, and management of publicly and privately funded contracts and grants, and maintain expertise with FASB, OMB circulars and other regulatory publications. The Grant Accounting Associate will work within a team of specialists that collectively report to the company’s PMO Advisor. The Grant Accounting Associate may work up to 20-25 hours per week with an appointment of 3.5 months and an option to extend for an additional 3.5 months.

Job Responsibilities

Administrative Capacity:

  • Regularly conducts research to help grow the capacity of internal and external stakeholders in an informed, curious, collaborative and integrative manner;
  • Stays abreast of relevant news and developments relating to the company and its clientele; carefully advocates and supports the interests of the company and its clientele as a team player and trust-worthy steward;
  • Regularly conduct monitoring, surveys, customer satisfaction push and pull communications, publish short educational and informative digests/newsletters, and other materials to steward awareness and compliance with federal, state, regional, local, and trade regulations and statutes;
  • Provide accounting and bookkeeping expertise;
  • Coordinate and lead the performance of regular evaluations and earned value analyses for the company, its partners and external stakeholders as directed.
  • Creates and keeps good records for the company and its clientele;
  • Other duties as mutually agreed and determined throughout the life-cycle of projects.

Leadership Capacity:

  • Frequent collaboration with internal and external partners and stakeholders;
  • Maintain cadence and order to help to ensure proper budget, communications, scope, risk, and time management, etc. towards high quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Good decision-making to ensure proper address of how to best handle tasks, stakeholder engagement, risk mitigation/avoidance/acceptance/exploitation, and strategic planning as a Grant Accounting Associate, team member, and company steward.

Fundraising & Communications Capacity:

  • Regularly identifies growth and maintenance opportunities for internal and external partners and stakeholders.
  • Regularly communicates to team members and the company’s leadership ideas, insights, and gaps in service that can benefit internal and external partners and stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Action-oriented, intrapreneurial, adaptable, coachable, innovative, team player;
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace i.e. Google Documents, Sheets, JamBoard;
  • Familiarity with Quickbooks, Project Management Information Systems (PMIS) and AI tools e.g. Monday.com, Asana, Jira, ChatGPT, MS Project, Wrike, SmartSheet.com;
  • Familiarity with cloud-based administrative tools and ways of working;
  • Ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and ways of knowing;
  • Mission-driven, avid reader, effective communicator, good writer, positive attitude;
  • Good time management and organizational skills.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Equipment: Company or stipend provided, depending on the role and appointment.
  • Work Location: Hybrid, 85% work from home, 15% on-site (flexible)
  • Benefits: To Be Discussed during scheduled interview(s).
  • Pay Frequency: Monthly unless otherwise posted.
  • Meeting Frequency (format: virtual or in-person): Daily retrospectives with team (10-15 minutes), Weekly company huddles (30 minutes), Monthly forecasts (30 minutes), Quarterly strategic planning and forecasts (30 minutes).
  • Leadership Structure/Oversight Champions: Direct Supervisor and Company Owner.
  • More than one person may be hired for this position within the company.
